PIER71 is an incubator for marine and port startups jointly established by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Smart Port Challenge (SPC) is a startup competition and incubation program designed to solve operational challenges using technologies from leading global companies. Since its launch in 2017, approximately 300 companies from around 50 countries have participated each year.

Underwater Solution possesses innovative technologies that automate underwater operations in the shipping, port, and maritime industries using underwater robotics and artificial intelligence.

Using its proprietary technology, the company provides unmanned underwater inspection, maintenance, and classification survey response services at vessel and port sites.

The technology proposed by Underwater Solution is a "Classification Survey-Responsive Underwater Robotic Hull Inspection & Underwater Digital Twin Platform." It utilizes unmanned underwater robots to collect video, sonar, and location data from underwater hull areas, and applies AI to analyze hull fouling, structural damage, and propeller condition.

Over the long term, the company plans to expand this into a digital twin platform that integrates vessel-specific data to build up inspection and maintenance history logs.

The enterprise will participate in PIER71's 10-week corporate growth support program running from September to November, seeking opportunities for technology validation and commercialization in collaboration with local maritime firms in Singapore.
