(GOESAN=Yonhap News) 'Asia Organic Congress 2016' will be held in Goesan, North Chungcheong Province.

The congress is jointly organized by North Chungcheong Province, Goesan County, and the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) ASIA as a follow-up event of the Goesan International Organic Expo held between September and October last year.

Goesan County recently held a meeting of organizers at the county office and fix the schedule for the event, according to North Chungcheng Province.

The event will take place at the Chungbuk Organic Agriculture Research Center in Goesan for four days starting from Sep 29th, 2016.

The Congress will bring together prominent stakeholders from the organic sector in Asia. Participants will issue a manifesto to deliver on action plans of Organic 3.0 Goesan Declaration proclaimed at the closing ceremony of the Goesan International Organic Expo.

On the sidelines of the event, the second Asia Local Government Summit and the Organic Festival will take place.

75 local governments and organizations from 20 Asian countries will partake in the summit to share information and best practices in the organic agriculture field. A country to hold the presidency for two years will be elected as well.
