Yeongdong to Spend KRW 11 Billion on Building Foundation to Supply Clean Water

(YEONGDONG=Newsis News) The County of Yeongdong-gun, North Chungcheong Province announced Feb. 20 it is investing KRW 11 billion in building a new foundation to supply clean tap water.

Extensive effort is being put into the new initiative to provide a steady supply of clean tap water, such as increasing tap water supply areas, upgrading and expanding tap water facilities, replacing old pipelines, developing clean water sources, and creating and enhancing small-scale tap water facilities.

As part of the initiative, the Hwanggan-myeon Tap Water Development Project for Farming and Fishing Villages began in 2008, and was allotted KRW 9.8 billion, the remaining KRW 800 million of which will be spent this year.

KRW 3 billion was alloted for the Haksan-myeon, Yangsan-myeon Tap Water Development Project for Farming and Fishing Villages, which started in 2009; while KRW 1.4 billio will be invested in the Yonghwa-myeon Tap Water Development Project for Farming and Fishing Villages that began in 2015.

KRW 200 million will be spent on extending pipelines to supply clean water to the Gugyo-Seolgye area in Yeongdong-eup that currently has no tap water supply.
