(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) The North Chungcheong city of Cheongju will be home to a Contents Korea Lab.
Of the six local governments that applied, North Chungcheong and South Jeolla were chosen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Korea Contents Labs will serve as creative centers for cultural content, providing expert training programs, developing new ideas and story-telling content, promoting the convergence of creative industries, and supporting startups and creative activities.
Starting this year, a total of KRW 11.5 billion will be injected into constructing the new North Chungcheong Korea Contents Lab for the next five years inside the Advanced Culture Industrial Complex in Cheongju.
Cheongju's Cultural Industry Promotion Foundation and North Chungcheong's Knowledge Industry Promotion Agency will be charge of operating the new center.
