(JEJU=Yonhap News) Chungbuk Free Economic Zone and railway electric parts manufacturer Woojin Industrial Systems sighed an investment agreement on May 11.
Woojin Industrial Systems plans on investing KRW 140 billion to build a new factory on a 38,000㎡ plot for the production of new transportation systems such as lightweight rubber wheel electric trains, smart monorail and mini tram in Cheongju Aeropolis District 2.
Also, the company plans to use old rail tracks to install a train shipment and test line construction facility by 2025 and then expand the plant as business progresses.
A Chungbuk Free Economic Zone representative stated, "Woojin Industrial Systems will create 360 new jobs and contribute to the development of the Aeropolis transportation infrastructure, connecting it with Cheongju International Airport."
