(CHUNGJU=Yonhap News) On June 8, Chungju City, Chungbuk-do announced the approval of the North Industrial Complex.
Chungju City and the Chungbuk Development Corporation have been planning the North Industrial Complex since 2014.
Until the scheduled time of completion in 2021, the city and the corporation will spend KRW 180 billion to build the 1,400,708㎡ complex.
Upon completion, the city plans to have region-specific strategic industries and new-growth industries move into the complex.
The city also expects the new complex to promote balanced regional development, job creation as well as transform Northern Chungbuk into the region's center of economy and life.
At the end of this month, the Chungbuk Development Corporation will hold a residents briefing session to announce compensation plans and evaluate appraisals.
