According to Yonhap News,

(YEONGDONG=Yonhap News) The sales rate of Yeongdong Industrial Complex which caused concerns for vacancies, has finally surpassed 50%.

During the last month, 5 firms including Woojin Plant, a fabrication and assembly business, made a contract to operate the firm in this industrial complex, making the sales rate to 54.5%, said Yeongdong-gun on Aug 1.

The contracted area for these 5 firms is 70,400 ㎡.

The Complex completed the sales of industrial land of 329,000 ㎡ out of the total of 602,600 ㎡.

Yeongdong Industrial Complex, which started the parcel out since 2015, was created on the land of 998,107 ㎡, Hangok-ri, Yongsan-myeon, Yeongdong-gun.

Even though the Complex was near Gyeongbu Expressway Yeongdong IC and was very cheap with KRW 93,680 per 1 ㎡, it had hard times selling the land due to far distance from the urban district and economic recession.

The county set exceptional condition of amortizing the land price for 10 years without any interest, and laid out sales strategy of having meetings with medium and large-sized businesses in the capital area.

It is also pushing forward to build a happy house with 200 households for the workers by investing KRW 20.4 billion by 2021.

The county's plan is to complete sales of the complex by 2020 and implement the strategy of each department attracting one business.

"To complete the sales in the early stage, we will provide one-stop services in which the administration executes all licensing procedure for occupancy, and strengthen on-line and off-line publicity," said Se-bok Park, the county governor of Yeongdong-gun.
