According to Yonhap News,
(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) Chungbuk-do announced on December 19 that the government budget for next year includes the budget of KRW 41.5 billion for the expansion of Osong Hi-tech Medical Complex's infrastructure and the R&D of advanced medical technologies.
The budget for each major project includes the one-stop support project for future medical industry (KRW 2.8 billion); education and training of biopharmaceutical specialists (KRW 2.1 billion); establishment of a support system for commercialization of cell therapy (KRW 1.5 billion); and the high-tech demonstration support (KRW 500 million).
The budget reflects the R&D investment (KRW 11.7 billion) and the fund for the construction of biopharmaceutical production center (KRW 5.9 billion) by Osong Medical Industry Promotion Foundation.
An official of the Province said, "The Province will facilitate these projects according to the plans so that the Osong Hi-tech Medical Industry Complex can become the best biomedical cluster in Korea."
