(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) Governor Lee, Si-jong of Chungbuk-do ordered on January 14 to "actively pursue the expansion of industrial complex, including both national and general."

He said "Chungbuk-do lacks industrial complex that is needed to attract companies" at an executive council.

He added that "the area for industrial complex within our Province rose from 1.44 million-square-meter in 2017 to 21.74 million-square-meter from January to October last year, an increase of 730,000㎡(50.6 percent)," adding "please review expanding advanced medical industrial complex, bio industrial complex, cosmetics industrial complex, and free economic zone."

Governor Lee said "in line with President Moon's policy direction that focuses on economy, we need to provide various support measures to improve exports and productivity, help companies participating in smart factory, and strengthening SME's competitiveness".

He also ordered to come up with a measure to utilize meeting rooms at KTX Osong station as the Province's convention center.
