(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) Chungbuk-do is to promote to transform domestic-oriented companies equipped with advanced technology and competitiveness to exporting companies.
It aims to improve export structure of Chungbuk-region, which is disproportionately dependent on a few industries like semiconductor.
The provincial government announced on January 27 that it set the target of increasing the number of exporting companies, which stands at 1,891 as of December last year to 2,000 this year and 3,900 until 2022.
It will also expand programs to provide consultation service and development subsidy for domestic market-oriented companies.
Special lectures by experts will be run throughout the year, as well as an academy to promote successful export by start-ups.
The academy will cover broad areas of practical training such as: trade practices; global marketing skills; payment methods; FTA special lecture; and marketing strategies utilizing SNS.
For SMEs with less than seven years old, a fund within the range of KRW 500 million will be supported in two years.
Chungbuk-do also plans to send a purchase delegation consists of fifteen SMEs to potential export markets in August this year and establish a council of exporting companies to provide support, in such way as holding a seminar briefing export trends or attending international exhibitions.
