(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) Foreign buyers were captivated by red ginseng drinks and seasoned laver produced in Chungbuk-do.

Chungbuk-do and Chungbuk Business Agency said on March 11 that six agricultural product companies participated in Foodex Japan 2019 and signed export agreements of USD 1.05 million (KRW 1.19 million).

Foodex Japan 2019 was held in Tokyo on March 5-8, participated by around 3,500 companies.

WellBiotec, located in Chungju, signed export agreements with Malaysian buyer (USD 720,000) and Japan buyer (USD 110,000) for red ginseng drinks. .

Hanbaekfood, located in Goesan, signed USD 200,000 export agreement with Japanese buyer to export its seasoned laver.

Chungbuk-do is to participate in Food Fairs, along with local companies, to be held in China and Thailand in May, Germany in October to expand export channels for agricultural products.
