(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) Chungbuk-do is to establish a "K-Beauty School", to be opened for foreigners.
Chungbuk Free Economic Zone (FEZ) Authority said on April 13 that it plans to outsource research on feasibility of K-Beauty School.
The candidate area for establishment is Osong, Cheongju.
The EFZ Authority is in negotiation with the International Beauty Cosmetics Industry Association over the management issues and foreigner recruitment.
K-Beauty School is to offer make-up and hair design courses, etc.
An official from the FEZ said, "We assumed that if foreigners open their business in their countries after K-Beauty School, they would use products produced in Chungbuk."
The number of cosmetics companies in the province is 136. And the production amounts to KRW 4.105 trillion, accounting for 33.3% of the total nationwide as of 2017.
The exports recorded KRW 1.108 trillion, 20.4% of the total nationwide.
