A project to establish Chungbuk Innovation City Energy Cluster, run by North Chungcheong Province finally put its names on the list of the national development plan to be financed by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
North Chungcheong Province announced on Nov. 13 that the project costs KRW 39.8 billion in total by the year 2029. Under the investment plan, college campus that embraces a research lab and a dormitory will be newly built up on a 34,768 square meter site inside the Chungbuk Innovation City Energy Cluster.
Nearby college and research centers studying energy engineering will move into and resettle inside the new campus by 2022.
Chungcheong Province is planning to form a giant R&D infrastructure, running industry-university affiliated sponsorship programs to ensure the cluster can become the hub of future energy industry.
