According to Yonhap News,
North Chungcheong Province, attempting to attract an Energy Convergence Industrial Cluster mainly centered around Chungbuk Innovation City, modifies and applies again this June for the project led by Ministry of Trade and Industry. The province made a bid last November but failed.
Within a 20 kilometers distance from the innovation city, tech-intensive industries, handling photovoltaic panels, rechargeable batteries, semiconductors and smart chips, are agglomerated. The province has another plan to establish three separate buildings to be used as an energy convergence park (worth KRW 1.37 trillion), a smart industrial complex and a semiconductor town.
Once the roadmap for the project is officially approved, the community seems to form a geographical agglomeration, becoming more competitive.
