According to Yonhap News,
North Chungcheong Province said on July 21 that it established 'Chungbuk strategy to foster the secondary battery industry' in line with the government's K-battery development strategy.
Chungbuk is the largest producer and exporter of secondary battery in Korea, and has been designated as Korea's only specialized zone for materials, components, and equipment.
With this strategy to foster the secondary battery industry, the province seeks to take advantage in the competition.
The strategy consists of 3 strategies, 9 key tasks, and 45 sub-projects, with a combined investment of KRW 8.7417 trillion, including government funding, local funding, and private capital by 2030.
First of all, its strategy sets out the creation of a global secondary battery R&D Cluster, the center of original technology and production technology in the world, through public-private cooperation.
Then, it plans to strengthen competitiveness of manufacturing and technologies, and create an innovative ecosystem of virtuous cycle in industrial structure capable of actively responding to rapidly changing secondary battery industry.
Chungbuk's governor said "we need to concentrate and cooperate to secure the advantage in global competition," adding "Chungbuk will stand at the forefront of such pursuit through this strategy."
