Chungbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (CBEFZ) is set to pursue smart medical platform pilot project.
The smart medical platform is to synchronize ICT-based diagnosis device capable of measuring patient's bio-signal, communications network and monitoring system.
It is Korea's only real-time patient management system that connected the latest digital technology and medical service.
CBEFZ is responsible for planning, Osong Medical Innovation Foundation (KBIO) is responsible for R&D, and Health Connect is responsible for commercialization.
CBEFZ established a project plan for smart medical platform pilot project in April last year. By putting into KRW 1.06 billion together with KBIO, it is set out to develop ICT-based diagnosis device and monitoring system.
CBEFZ plans to begin research clinical trail on dialysis patients in Seoul National University Bundang Hospital from September as a preparation for use of smart medical platform within hospitals. It also plans to complete device advancement of smart band and smart patch.
It will conduct approval clinical trials on general patients in Seoul National University Hospital next year, finalizing approval and permission of medical device of smart band, smart patch, and monitoring system.
Smart bands are wearable device containing watch, temperature, SpO2, and GPS functions. Smart patches are detachable patch-type device measuring pulse and electrocardiogram.
