CHUNGCHEONGBUK-DO < invest Korea

Chungbuk Free Economic Zone Authority announced on September 17 that construction of Cheongju Osong Biopolis District (2nd Bio Science Complex) had been completed.

It was designated as Free Economic Zone in February 2013 and developed jointly by Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and Chungbuk Development Corporation.

The district was constructed on the scale of 3.284 square meters including residential, industrial, commercial, and public facilities lands with a total project expense of KRW 932.3 billion.

The Biopolis District, in proximity to KTX Osong Station, has a strength of great accessibility. It is a specialized zone for BT and IT.

It is expected to be established as the largest bio cluster in Korea, combining R&D, approval and permission, and production and residence, together with closely located Osong 1st BioScience Complex, Advanced Medical Complex, and Health and Medical Town.

Meanwhile, construction was partially completed including industrial lands in April 2019 for efficient investment and economic activities of domestic and foreign companies and prospective tenants.
