An energy self-reliant village will be established in Deoksan-eup, Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, where the Chungbuk Innovation City is located.
Jincheon-gun announced on October 9 that it was selected for the new and renewable energy convergence support project hosted by the Korea Energy Agency.
This project is to lay the foundation for energy self-reliance by installing new and renewable energy facilities such as solar power and thermal solar power in residential and public buildings.
Jincheon-gun will spend KRW 4.6 billion next year, including the national funding to install 233 solar power (1,857 kW), 41 geothermal power (718 kW), and 3 thermal solar (72 m2) places, and 2 residents income generating solar power (30 kW) places.
An official from Jincheon-gun said, "Since 2018, it has been selected for the project for four consecutive years, gradually expanding new and renewable energy facilities with KRW 13.4 billion investment," adding "we will actively promote dissemination of eco-friendly energy to cut green house gas emissions."
