According to Yonhap News,
North Chungcheong Province announced on October 23 that it will spend KRW 8.6 billion for three years until 2023 to push for a project to 'advance semiconductor convergence parts innovation'.
This project is organized by Chungbuk Technopark, in collaboration with the Chungbuk Innovation Institute of Science and Technology and the Korea Testing & Research Institute.
These institutions will have 13 types of equipment that can respond to the advancement of semiconductor technology and the diversification of applied products, so as to provide technical support and equipment utilization training required by companies.
In this year, they are supporting companies in prototype manufacturing process, product analysis, and reliability test by building 8 types of equipment including electrostatic discharge latch-up test equipment, a high-resolution oscilloscope, a system semiconductor vision inspection equipment, and an ultra-high-resolution 3D printer.
To date, their achievements include 48 cases of equipment utilization support, 9 cases of prototype manufacturing support, 47 cases of test and evaluation certification, 5 cases of technical guidance, and 5 cases of training to foster professional manpower.
