Eumseong-gun, Chungbuk-do, announced on January 10 that the construction of Yongsan Industrial Complex, a long-awaited project of the citizens, would begin in earnest in March.

Yongsan Industrial Complex will be built on a site of 1,040,774 square meters in Yongsan-ri, Eumseong-eup, with an investment of KRW 150.5 billion by the end of 2024.

The main facilities are ▲571,927㎡ of land for industrial facilities ▲81,510㎡ of land for residential facilities ▲16,530㎡ of land for commercial facilities ▲300,009㎡ of land for public facilities ▲70,798㎡ of land for other support and maintenance facilities.

It will host apartment houses for about 1,700 households, and roads and parks will be built on the land for public facilities.

After completing logging work of winter, Eumseong-gun will begin full-scale construction in March in earnest. Currently, the county is installing a fence to prevent safety accidents and dust, and conducting a trial excavation of cultural properties.

In order to supply water to resident companies and apartment houses in the industrial complex, the county will invest KRW 6 billion in 3,800 ton-water supply construction project, and KRW 13.7 billion in 4,400 ㎥-wastewater treatment facility installation project.

Eumseong-gun plans to focus on attracting the businesses of electronic parts, computers, and video and communication equipment and intelligent future vehicle parts to the Yongsan Industrial Complex, to foster 5 new growth industries and expand the foundation for attracting companies.

In addition to the existing 16 industrial complexes (484 companies moved in), Eumseong-gun is building eight additional industrial complexes, including Yongsan Industrial Complex.
