Chungbuk-do is set to pursue 3 strategies for continued growth of the semiconductor industry, the province's core industry.

The province said on February 10 that its 3 strategies include: laying the foundation to foster the semiconductor industry; strengthening the technological competitiveness of relevant companies; and bolstering of the ecosystem of the semiconductor industry.

First, it will build the foundation to foster the industry in connection with 'K-Semiconductor Belt'. It will set up long-term roadmap in the first half of this year, based on research service for establishment of comprehensive plan.

The province will work for passage of system semiconductor advanced packaging platform establishment, which was selected for a project subject to preliminary feasibility study, and R&D on batch process equipment establishment and process technology advancement.

It will also work on projects aimed at improving technological competitiveness of semiconductor producers, intensively supporting newly emerging fields such as semiconductors for vehicles, compound, and intelligent-type.

It will also bolster the ecosystem of the semiconductor industry by nurturing core talents and revitalizing networks.
