Korea Metal Silicon (KMS), specialized in production of metal silicon power, is to establish a production line of secondary battery anode materials in Jecheon, Chungbuk-do.
KMS, Jecheon's mayor, and Chairman of Jecheon City Council signed an MOU, pledging implementation of investment and administrative support on February 17.
KMS is set to build a factory to produce anode materials of secondary batteries, of around 10,000 square meters in floor area, on the site of 18,532 square meters in 3rd Industrial Complex by July. The investment amount by 2026 is KRW 50.5 billion, and the number of new hires expected is 172 according to the city.
This investment is intended to respond to explosively growing demand from the market due to rapid growth of the EV market, as the silicon anode materials is attracting attention as a key material of secondary batteries.
Four companies related with eco-friendly cars moved in Jecheon 2-3 Industrial Complex including INFAC, HNS, Enchem and KMS.
