Last month, the mining and industrial production in Chungbuk-do increased by 12.8% from a year earlier, continuing its growth momentum.

According to the 'Industrial Activity Trends in the Chungcheong Region in March 2022' announced by the Statistics Korea's Chungcheong Office on April 29, the mining industry production in Chungbuk-do increased by 12.8% year-on-year, and up 2.3% from a month earlier.

From a year earlier, the growth in production was most significant in electronic parts, computers, and video and sound communication (63.9%), followed by pharmaceuticals (11.7%) and food products (8.8%).

Primary metals (-15.8%), metal processing (-7.3%), and chemical products (-4.2%) recorded a decrease in production.

Shipments increased by 13.2% from the same month last year and 2.5% from the previous month.

Shipments of electronic parts, computers, video and audio communications (40.6%), electrical equipment (27.4%), and food products (13.4%) increased, while metal processing (-14.8%), Non-metal mineral item (-7.8), and chemical products (-3.8%) decreased.

Manufacturing inventories increased 16.6% year-on-year, while decreased by 2.1% from a month earlier.
