Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do announced on May 11 that it plans to complete the 'Chungju Knowledge Industry Center' for bio-health companies by 2024.
The center will be built in the form of a public rental apartment-type factory with 1 basement level and 5 above ground floors (total floor area: 12,174 square meters) in Seochungju Enterprise City. A total of KRW 27.8 billion will be invested, including KRW 16 billion from the national budget and KRW 3.6 billion from the provincial budget.
The city plans to start construction in May next year after taking such steps as public competition for architectural design, and others.
It will be equipped with cutting-edge factory facilities which do not generate noise or wastewater and worker support facilities, and will focus on attracting new industry companies related to bio-health.
In addition, support facilities for tenant companies, such as the Northern Area Innovation Support Center, will also move in here.
