Chungbuk's exports in April up 30.5% from a year ago

Despite unstable external conditions such as the intensifying war between Russia and Ukraine, Chungbuk's exports continue the growth momentum in last month, increasing 30.5% compared to a year ago.

According to the Chungbuk Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association on May 27, Chungbuk's exports in April recorded USD 2.656 billion, up 30.5% year-on-year.

By item, exports increased: batteries and storage batteries (786.3%); pesticides and pharmaceuticals (132.0%); computers (62.0%); fine chemical raw materials (58.2%); and semiconductors (6.2%).

By country, exports increased to: Hungary (257.6%); the United States (197.9%), China (48.7%), and Japan (40.1%), while exports decreased to: Hong Kong (-49.2%), Vietnam (-8.2%) and Taiwan (-3.2%).

Of cities and counties in the province, the share of Cheongju's exports was the highest (77.5%), followed by Eumseong-gun (7.9%), Jincheon-gun (5.8%), and Chungju-si (5.3%). Chungbuk's export amount was ranked the 8th among 17 local governments nationwide.
