Cheongju-si, Chungbuk, announced on Dec. 2 that it planned to expand the number of Cheongju Pay mobile payment (QR payment) member stores.

Until Dec. 8, member store recruiters will visit areas where shopping mall-concentrated areas to provide information on the service and how to sign up.

Individual businesses registered as Cheongju Pay member stores can access the online application site (design.konacard.co.kr), enter business information, settlement account, etc., and register the required documents.

After the two-week review of submitted documents, a QR payment kit with a QR code panel, payment instructions, and member store stickers will be delivered to each store.

Cheongju Pay app users go to 'My Wallet' at the bottom, press the QR payment button, and then take a picture of the QR code panel at each member store.

A city official said, "We expect the use of Cheongju Pay would make it easy to pay with a smartphone app."
