CHUNGCHEONGBUK-DO < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

The Chungcheongbuk-do province will work with MOTIE (Ministry of Trade, industry and Energy) to support the region's specialized industries, semiconductor, electrical & electronic Materials to assist their technology developments, according to the Provincial Council on May 18.

Chungcheongbuk-do will, therefore, invest KRW 29 billion in SIMMTECH and Techbridge, both located in Cheongju Industrial Complex, and SUNGCHANG in Osong Bio-Technopolis in order to develop and advance intelligent information and technology.

It plans to strike agreements with KIAT (Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology), IRPE (NSTITUTE FOR REGIONAL PROGRAM EVALUATION), and the aforementioned corporations within this month to get off to a good start.

One official of the province said, "We hope this project will go a long way to devising new technologies and commercializing promising items in a smooth and fast manner."
