Lee Beom-seok, Mayor of Cheongju, and Lee Il-woo, Vice President of SK Hynix in Cheongju branch signed a MOU on July 5 to jointly commit to boosting the tourism industry in the region.
According to the MOU, SK Hynix will add new programs on Cheongu's history, culture and natural ecosystem as part of 'Refresh Course' provided to employees of the company.
The city government promised to support the programs by designing city tours and providing licensed tourist guides, while SK the company will operate cultural programs in a regular basis where employees explore Cheonju's tourism hotspots.
Mayor Lee said, "The city government will spare no efforts to make sure executives and members of SK Hynix can explore genuine values and charms of Cheonju. We will scale up the programs so that they will lead to a significant growth in the tourism industry in the region."
