CHUNGCHEONGBUK-DO < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) said on July 7 it will join hands with Chungcheongbuk-do (North Chuncheong province), Chungcheongnam-do (South Chuncheong province), Daejeon city, and Sejong city to implement a project to develop an AI-and-Metaverse-based disaster management system.

The central government will have invested KRW 12 billion (KRW 8 billion in state funding and KRW 4 billion in local funding) by 2025 to support development and demonstration of the new system which will be designed to collect real-time sensor data to simulate conditions of various settings on Metaverse and ultimately prevent possible accidents and help better decision-making.

Chungcheongbuk-do will invent a disaster-prevent system that will monitor the whole lifecycle of the manufacturing process in industrial complexes of the region to avoid massive-scale accident, such as fire or explosion.

They will also develop an integrated monitoring system that covers Chungcheong province, which facilitates information exchanges and utilization of database built on them to solidify the regional collaboration in disaster prevention and management.

A member of the Software Policy Bureau of the MSIT said, "I expect that we will make a successful case of AI and Metaverse application into disaster management system, which will be widely used across the nation."
