According to Yonhap News,

Huons Biopharma announced on July 25 that it has begun building a 3rd plant in Jecheon Bio Valley, Chungcheongbuk-do, to strengthen the overseas expansion of its botulinum toxin products.

The announcement was made during its groundbreaking ceremony. Botulinum toxin, commonly called "Botox," is a biopharmaceutical mainly used in cosmetic plastic surgery procedures such as reducing forehaed wrinkles and square jaws.

The new plant is scheduled to be completed next year with a total floor area of 10,000 square meters and five floors above the ground. The plant will have annual production capacity of 7.2 million vials (bottle) for botulinum toxin product "Liztox" (Huttox for export).

In sum, the company has the ability to produce a total of 13.68 million vials per year, including existing production.

Huons Biopharma CEO said "The construction of the 3rd plant will present an opportunity both for company and the local community to grow together."
