According to Yonhap News,

The 2023 Eco-Friendly Energy Festival, Chungbuk's flagship energy festival, will be held on September 21-23 at the Hydrogen Safety Museum in the Chungbuk Innovation City in Eumseong-gun.

The festival has been held under the name of the "Solar Festival" every year since 2012, but this year's event was renamed in consideration of the potential expansion of the industry.

Co-hosted by Chungbuk-do and Eumseong-gun, and organized by the Chungbuk Energy Institute for Industry-University Convergence, this year's festival will shed light on the overall energy industry under the theme of expansion of the carbon-neutral base and transformation of the new energy industry focused on the hydrogen industry.

The venue will be composed of an energy promotion (policy) hall where the energy industry can be observed at a glance, an energy industry hall participated by research institutes, universities and companies in the energy sector, and an energy education hall where various energy sources can be experienced.

Major events include an eco-friendly energy idea contest, an energy job concert, a symposium on fostering a new hydrogen industry, an academic conference and seminar with industry, academia, research institutes participating, and a painting contest with a theme on eco-friendly energy.

Chungbuk has been building the leading energy cluster in Korea with the designations as the nation's first solar energy industry special zone in 2011, followed by Energy Industry Academica Convergence Zone in 2019, Energy Industry Convergence Complex in 2020, Specialized Complex for Secondary Battery Parts, Materials, and Equipment in 2021, Hydrogen Industry Regulation Free Special Zone in 2021, and the Specialized Complex in National Strategic and Advanced Industries this year.
