CHUNGCHEONGBUK-DO < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

Boeun-gun, Chungbuk-do, has joined the competition to attract the "Insect Industry Hub Complex" offered by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

Boeun-gun signed an agreement with Keil, an agricultural company specializing in green bio materials, for the attraction of this project on August 14.

The insect industry hub complex is a facility that handles the procedures from the production (smart farm) to processing and distribution of insects, with investment of KRW 10 billion state funds and KRW 10 billion local funds.

Chuncheon, Gangwon State, was selected this year following Yecheon, Gyeongbuk-do last year. The applications for next year's project will proceed soon.

In Boeun-gun, there are 31 farms that raise maggot and mealworm beetle to be supplied for raw materials of cosmetics and pet food.
