Chungbuk-do and Chungju-si announced on August 24 that they have signed an investment agreement worth a total of KRW 50 billion with K&L Pack, a producer of eco-friendly packaging materials, and Eunsung Electronics, a manufacturer of auto parts.
K&L Pack, an affiliate of Kyochon Group, plans to build a 6,611㎡ plant by September next year on a 16,577㎡ site in Chungju High-Tech Industrial Complex to produce packaging materials using pulp, an eco-friendly material.
The company plans to invest KRW 30 billion and hire 32 workers.
Eunsung Electronics, a company specializes in electronical components for automobiles, is set to build a new factory on a 16,919㎡ site in Dongchungju Industrial Complex to expand the production of battery parts for EVs.
It plans to commence construction in March 2025, with an investment of KRW 20 billion. It is expected to hire 100 workers.
Chungju's Mayor, Chairman of Kyochon Group, CEO of K&L Pack, and CEO of Eunsung Electronics were present for the signing ceremony.
Chungju Mayor said, "The establishment of factories by the two companies is expected to create new jobs and revitalize the local economy."
