On September 15, Chungbuk-do held the launching ceremony of the "Promotion Team for Specialized Complex in Bio Pharmaceutical Materials, Parts, and Equipment" at Chungbuk Techno Park.

The promotion team consists of about 30 officials, including representatives from Cheongju City, LG Chem, GC Green Cross, Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Celltrion Pharmaceutical, Prestige Biologics, Chungbuk Techno Park, Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Korea Biomedicine Industry Association and KAIST.

The government and Chungbuk-do plan to establish a specialized complex for biopharmaceutical materials, parts, and equipment centered on Osong, Cheongju, to create the key supply chain for materials, parts, and equipment that are highly dependent on foreign countries and secure product technology.

To this end, about KRW 1.6 trillion will be put into research and development (R&D), infrastructure construction, talent training, and corporate support over the next four years.

The promotion team will be in charge of establishing business plans and managing performance for the rapid creation of specialized complexes, attracting companies, resolving difficulties, supporting cooperation between supply and demand companies, and technology development, test beds, and manpower training projects.
