According to Yonhap News,
The creation of the Dream Park Industrial Complex, which Chungju-si, Chungbuk-do, intends to leverage as the basis for realizing an economic self-sufficient city, has begun in earnest.
Chungju-si held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Dream Park Industrial Complex in Haguam-ri, Jungangtap-myeon on September 19, attended by around 400 people, including Chungju's mayor, a national assemblyman, and Chungbuk's deputy governor, among others.
It is a public-private development project carried out by a special purpose corporation (Chungju Dream Park Development), in which Chungju-si and HDC Hyundai Industrial Development are participating, with KRW 287.5 billion in investment and the goal of completing its construction by 2026.
Dream Park Industrial Complex will have a total area of 1,698,000㎡ consisted of 1,063,000㎡ of industrial facilities, 43,000㎡ of residential facilities, 18,000㎡ of commercial facilities, 88,000㎡ of support facilities, and 467,000㎡ of public facilities.
The Industrial Park has been planned to attract high-tech and knowledge-based industries, materials and new materials industries, and auto parts industries.
Chungju-si predicted that the creation of the Dream Park Industrial Complex would induce production of KRW 360 billion, and direct employment of 5,600 people.
In addition, it is expected to generate win-win development with Megapolis, high-tech general industrial complexes, corporate cities, Bizcore cities, and Beophyeon industrial complexes, which are located in nearby West Chungju New Town.
