According to Yonhap News,
On October 18, Mayor of Cheongju-si and CEO of Kovea, a leisure and outdoor company, signed an investment agreement to create 'Kovea Camping Land'.
Kovea will prepare a plan to create and develop a camping land, contemplate discounts for Cheongju citizens, and discover tourism-connected projects, while Cheongju-si will support administrative procedures, shorten the licensing period, and build cooperative relationships.
Kovea will invest KRW 100 billion to create "Slow Hill Kovea Camping Land" (tentatively) equipped with various types-general, caravan, cabin, and pet accompanying-camping sites, diverse water park facilities, experience facilities including artificial rockwall and sledding, and an outdoor concert hall of 1,200 seats on 146,847㎡ in Samsan-ri, Nangseong-myeon.
Kovea plans to commence construction in 2025 after conducting various pre-assessments, carrying out detailed design outsourcing, and briefing sessions for local residents. The opening date is set for the first half of 2026.
