According to Yonhap News,
A project to create a large-scale extreme park with private capital in Cheongpung-myeon, Jecheon-si, Chungbuk-do will go ahead.
On December 11, Jecheon-si signed an MOU on investment with Dongbao (restaurant operator), Raon Green Farm (agricultural company), and Cheongpung Loopway (a cable car operator for Cheongpung Lakeside) to push for the 'Cheongpung Lakeside Extreme Park Creation Project'.
The parties to the agreement plan to build amusement facilities such as mountain coasters, accommodation facilities such as pool villas, campsites, and exhibition halls on 110,000㎡ site in Sin-ri, Cheongpung-myeon with an investment of KRW 30 billion.
After going through required procedures such as urban planning changes and implementation plans, construction is scheduled to commence at the end of 2025. Jecheon-si will provide administrative support to help the project goes as planned.
Investing companies will also make an effort to boost the local economy by having local construction companies participate in the construction of the Extreme Parks and purchasing materials and equipment produced locally.
When the project is completed, Jecheon-si expects that the competitiveness of the tourism industry will be raised in connection with existing tourism facilities including Cheongpung Lake Cable Car, Cheongpung Lake Cruise, and Cheongpung Cultural Property Complex.
