On July 1, Jecheon-si, Chungbuk-do signed an MOU on investment for "Construction of New Factory in the 2nd Industrial Complex" with Samjung CNG, a company specializing in materials, parts and equipment.
The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Jecheon's Mayor, City Council Chairman, and CEO of Samjung CNG.
Samjung CNG plans to invest KRW 50 billion in the second half of this year to build a factory (5,000㎡) on a 9,764㎡ site in the 2nd industrial complex to produce expandable graphite.
The city expects the construction of the factory would lead to create 70 new jobs.
The city explained that the company, established in 2007, is specializing in graphite and flame-retardant chemical, accounting for more than 70% of the domestic expandable graphite market.
