On August 22, Minister of SMEs and Startups (MSS) visited COSMECCA Korea, a cosmetics manufacturer in Eumseong-gun, Chungbuk-do, to tour smart factories (intelligent factories) and listen to on-site vocies including K-beauty's global success stories.

COSMECCA Korea, established in 1999, is one of Korea's top three cosmetics ODM (Original Development Manufacturing) companies and has developed a triple functional BB cream for the first time in Korea, attracting huge popularity.

In particular, it was selected as the government's first smart factory leading project, the K-Smart Lighthouse Factory, among cosmetics manufacturers in 2022 and built a smart factory that is capable of optimal mixing of cosmetic ingredients by applying artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technologies.

Minister of MSS toured the smart factory of COSMECCA Korea, including integrated monitoring system capable of smart production procedures and real-time process management, and held a roundtable with employees to listen to their policy suggestions and opinions.

She said, "we will do our best to help Korean cosmetics grow to the world's best through innovative production and global expansion."
