On August 29, Chungbuk-do and Cheongju-si sigend an investment agreement with JSR Micro Korea, a Japanese foreign-invested company working for the establishment of a factory.

JSR Micro Korea, a semiconductor material manufacturer, plans to build a plant to produce photoresist, one of the core semiconductor materials, by 2026 on a 2,000㎡ (605 pyeong) site in the Ochang foreign investment zone in Cheongju.
The company, founded in 2003 in Ochang, Cheongju, has focused on producing materials for flat panel displays.
Chungbuk-do and Cheongju-si plan to provide administrative support to facilitate the establishment of the company's factory.
Meanwhile, after the signing ceremony, JSR Micro Korea donated KRW 9 million to Chungbuk-do for the cause of overcoming the low birth rate and population crisis.
