Chungbuk-do opened Innovation Labs to support the growth of bio-startups
On July 10, Chungbuk-do announced the opening of Innovation Labs, a facility dedicated to supporting the growth of bio-startups.
InnoLabs, built with an investment of KRW 20 billion, covers a total floor area of 4,663㎡ across a 5-story building (1 basement level and 4 above-ground levels) in Osong-eup. It hosts laboratories for new drug development, a medical device GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility, a regulatory science support office, and meeting spaces.
It will be home to up to 20 bio-startup companies, who will be able to receive technical support and consulting across various stages, from initial development strategies to regulatory approvals.
A 'Bio-Startup Lab Center' was also established to support the entrepreneurship of graduates in May this year, in collaboration with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
Chungbuk's Governor stated, "Located within the Osong Medical Innovation Foundation's site, we expect synergies with centers such as the New Drug Development Support Center and the Non-Clinical Support Center. InnoLabs will serve as a forward base, significantly contributing to the nurturing of bio companies in the province."
