According to Yonhap News,
North Chungcheong Province(Chungbuk) said that it plans to attract 70 million tourists by 2014.
Lee Jung-ryul, director of culture, women, and environment department, said that Chungbuk is setting up a strategy to boost the tourism industry in consultation with 12 cities, counties, and experts.
He said that the province plans to create a water leisure tourism zone by linking Chungju lake, Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex, and Jung-won Cultural Area, and make Mt. Sokri and Bupju temple tourist sites to experience buddhist culture.
He continued to say that the region plans to make drama shooting sites tourist attractions by taking advantage of each acess through Cheongju airport and KTX Osong station. The development strategy will be out in the near future.
Last year, about 51.33 million people visited North Chungcheong Province.
