According to Yonhap News,
Boeun county in North Chungcheong Province said on July 26 that it will invest KRW 180 million to build a solar power plant in the county office this year as part of the government's plan to supply renewable energy.
The power plant generates 40 kw/h of electricity, supplying 6% of total electricity consumption in the county office.
The county already built a solar power plant in 2009 that generates 20 to 40kw/h of electricity in the waste water treatment facility and youth center.
An official from the county office said that the county saved over KRW 1 million a month in electricity bill after building a solar power plant and replacing lighting with energy-saving LED lighting.
