Goisan implements its four-year development plan on organic agriculture

According to Yonhap News,

Goisan-gun in northern Chungcheong Province that will host the 2015 World Organic EXPO has decided to implement its four-year development plan on organic agriculture, designating this year as the starting point of developing organic agriculture for Goisan.

Goisan said it is planning to build the Resource Center for the Agricultural and Livestock Industry in three local government, such as Gammul-myeon, Chlseong-myeon and Buljeong-myeon, along with Goisan-eup designated as the eco-friendly agricultural complex by the government in 2011, in order to lay the foundation for developing into the local government specialized in organic agriculture that doesn't use pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

The four-year plan also includes establishing a microbial cultivation center for the agricultural and livestock industry, creating greenhouse complex for horticultural products and nurturing the strategic bean product business.

From last May, Goisan is planning to increase its added value by building agricultural producing, processing and distribiting facilities, research institutes and experience centers in the Organic Food Valley that is under construction on the 630,000 square meter-land in Yulji-ri, Chilseong-myeon.
