CHUNGCHEONGBUK-DO < invest Korea

Hyundai Mobis, the largest automotive component manufacturer and supplier in Korea, has decided to create a "luxurious forest" in the 108 ha-country forests in Hwasan-ri, Chopyeong-myeon, Jincheon-gun in northern Chungcheong Province.

Jeon Ho-seok, Hyundai Mobis CEO, and Yu Yeong-hun, head of Jincheon-gun local government office, signed a cooperation agreement on creating "Hyundai Mobis Forest" at the local government office on Jan. 19.

The company said it plans to donate 10 billion KRW to the National Nature Trust established based on the national trust law on cultural asset and natural environment.

The trust fund will be spent on creating theme forests and eco-friendly forests, building eco-eudcation center and boot camp training, planting trees and establishing roads within forests.

The forests will be donated to Jincheon in 2022 and the local government will be responsible for maintenance and management.

Hyundai Mobis expects that the project would create the positive image of a clean and eco-friendly enterprise.

There are some attractions including Chopyeong Reservoir, Jincheon Youth Camp and Nongdari, a stone bridge registered as the 28th tangible cultural asset of northern Chungcheong Province. Nongdari built in the Koryo Dynasty is visited by many tourists in its annual festival.
