According to Yonhap News,
North Chungcheong Province (Chungbuk) will provide various supports as an effort to successfully complete the 2015 World Organic Agriculture Expo, to be held in Goisan.
The province has decided to set up an ordinance concerning the establishment of the special organic agriculture zone and supports for organic farmers in order to expand the agricultural land where certified organic agricultural products are grown.
In addition, it plans to establish a specialized cluster to nurture regional strategic products and a consultative group consisting of organic agricultural producers and processors.
It will also focus on establishing the organic agriculture valley, getting the approval for the international event and being designated as the special organic agriculture zone.
The province will unveil its master plan after coordinating details with relevant institutions and organizations.
Chungbuk Governor Lee Si-jong and Goisan Governor Im Gak-su visited Germany last month to sign a cooperation agreement with the International Society of Organic Agriculture Research and finalized its organizing of the organic agriculture expo.
