According to Yonhap News,
North Chungcheong Province (Chungbuk) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Eastar Jet, a Korean low-cost airline, to cooperate each other to conduct aviation maintenance project.
Under the agreement, Eastar Jet will participate in the province-led aviation maintenance project. The airline company has so far outsourced the maintenance of its airplanes and engines to a Singapore's aircraft maintenance company.
The province suggested domestic airline companies participate in the project, based on the consideration that securing a certain number of airplanes that need maintenance or repair is important ahead of its preparation to build a comprehensive aviation maintenance, repair and operation complex.
