According to Yonhap News,
The construction of an environmentally-friendly microorganism cultivation center will be completed in next month, according to Chungju City, north Chungcheong Province (Chungbuk).
As an effort to nurture the eco-friendly agricultural industry, the city invested 2.5 billion won last year to build the two-story cultivation center that will include six incubators, a laboratory and training room for farmers.
The center is expected to increase the monthly production volume of eco-friendly microorganisms from 1 tons to 3.5 tons, which will be supplied to agricultural and livestock farms.
In addition, it will select microorganisms that are suitable for Chungju's soil and climate condition via tests and then supply the selected ones to farms.
"The cultivation center will contribute a lot to increasing the incomes of agricultural and livestock farms by applying microorganisms to various sectors including soil management and plant growth," said a Chungju official.
