According to Yonhap News,
Chungcheongbuk-do (province) is aiming at recording 14 billion won in exports by supporting overseas marketing for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Chungcheongbuk-do surpassed 10 billion won in exports in 2010 and posted 12 billion won in 2011, but it lost momentum a little bit last year due to the global economic slowdown.

Large companies tend to have its own export networks, while most of the SMEs have difficulty getting an access to export routes especially at an early stage.
Given that 98.7 percent of the total 7,341 manufacturers in Chungcheongbuk-do are SMEs, the province decided to concentrate its efforts on enhancing the fundamental of the SMEs and cultivating them. It will invest 3.8 billion won to conduct 71 overseas marketing programs to support SMEs.
In addition, it will dispatch 10 trade delegation groups to abroad this year. The first one will be comprised of ten companies. It will also support 200 companies to participate in 25 overseas trade fairs.
In order to expand exports, the province plans to invite about 100 foreign buyers to the Cosmetics & Beauty Expo, Osong Korea 2013 in May to hold an export seminar.
