As of late December, foreign ownership of land in Chungcheongbuk-do (Province) rose 4.7 percent on-year to 13.578 million square meter from 12.294 million square meter a year earlier, according to the province Friday.
This accounts for 1.8 percent of the total land in the province with the official land value worth 454.63 billion won.
Last year, foreigners and foreign corporations acquired 766,000 square meter-land (262 contracts) and disposed 182,000 square meter-land (127).

"With Chungcheongbuk-do emerging as a transportation and logistics hub, the foreign ownership of land has also increased," said a Chungcheongbuk-do official.
